James and Steve Rigby awarded honorary Doctor of Science degrees by Aston University
Steve and James Rigby
We are proud to share that James Rigby and Steve Rigby have been awarded honorary Doctor of Science degrees by Aston University.
The awards were presented during a graduation ceremony for students from Aston University's School of Computer Science & Digital Technologies, recognising James and Steve for their outstanding contributions to business, technology, entrepreneurship and the West Midlands.
It was a particularly special occasion for the Rigby family, with Rigby Group founder Sir Peter Rigby and Pat Rigby in attendance to celebrate the achievement.
Aston University has long been connected to the region that Rigby Group has called home for more than five decades. Located in the heart of Birmingham, close to where the business was founded and where SCC remains headquartered today, the university continues to play an important role in developing the next generation of talent, innovators and business leaders.
That shared commitment to innovation and opportunity is reflected in the recently launched Sir Peter Rigby Digital Futures Institute, established with support from The Sir Peter Rigby Charitable Trust. The institute is helping to advance digital skills, research and innovation across the Midlands.
The ceremony was also an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Aston University's graduating students as they embark on the next stage of their careers. We extend our congratulations to the Class of 2026 and wish them every success for the future.
